About Us

The Corrib Dance Academy (CDA) is the centre of excellence for Ballet in the west of Ireland. It offers students of dance, fully equipped, dedicated studios in which to train. CDA provides ballet training to the highest pre-professional standard.

Corrib Dance Academy (CDA) was founded in December 1997. Now located in purpose built dance studios at Briarhill Business Park, Galway, a wide selection of classes in classical ballet, modern theatre dance, lyrical jazz, contemporary dance are offered.
 
Students of CDA work towards grade and vocational exams by British examining boards, the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) and the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD).

All CDA students are also offered the opportunity to take part in school productions at the Town Hall Theatre and talented students represent the school in the National Dance Awards annually.  

Children are accepted from the age of four into Pre- Ballet class. The children's lessons teach the foundations of classical ballet, through fun movement, mime and stories. The ballet grades progress from grade 1 to grade 8, building classical technique and skill each year.

Academy founder, Phyllis Hayes has over 30 years’ experience teaching ballet. She is joined by a team of qualified and enthusiastic dance teachers.
